Southlake, TX – Gauge Capital (“Gauge”), a middle-market control buyout private equity firm, is pleased to announce the promotion of Sam Smith to partner. Mr. Smith joined the firm as an associate in August 2014 and most recently served as a principal. He is the first Gauge employee to join the firm as an associate and be promoted to partner. In his new role, he will lead Gauge’s efforts in the education, professional services, environmental services, and healthcare technology sectors.
Mr. Smith currently serves as a director on the boards of Affordable American Insurance, CENTEGIX, NINJIO, Sago, Streamline Healthcare Solutions, and 7 Mindsets. He formerly served on the boards of eDynamic Learning and Teachers of Tomorrow.

Prior to joining Gauge, Mr. Smith worked as an analyst in the investment banking division of RBC Capital Markets. He holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a BBA in Finance and Economics from Baylor University.
